Legends X: Today’s Vision, Tomorrow’s Home from May 8-10, 2018 is a 3-day celebration of design in the La Cienega Design Quarter that brings together thousands of VIPs and tastemakers from the worlds of interior design, decor, art, fashion and architecture. LEGENDS features receptions, keynote panels, conversations, cocktail parties, book signings and numerous other opportunities for people to see and engage in a dialogue about design.

Mecox Los Angeles is honored to host a stellar group of distinguished and talented leaders in the design world. Our famed Mecox LA window will be curated in the 2018 LEGENDS X theme by Houston lifestyle blogger and designer Paloma Contreras, and the two day event will be filled with personal appearances and talks from design talent including Beth Webb, Tim Campbell, Nathan Turner, Tichenor and Thorp, Keith Langham, Charlotte Moss and Cathy Graham. Join us for an event celebrating their latest book releases on Thursday, May 10 from 3-5 pm. It is certainly a design event not to be missed!

Paloma Contreras

Paloma Contreras is an award-winning interior decorator, tastemaker, and design blogger based in Houston, Texas. Paloma’s design sensibility is a modern take on traditional style– gravitating towards classic silhouettes and timeless pieces paired with a touch of glamour and an infusion of color. Her new book, Dream. Design. Live., the decorator and tastemaker goes beyond interior design to show readers how to inhabit their homes in fulfilling and beautiful ways.

Beth Webb

Through her sensory driven design approach, Beth Webb creates style sanctuaries—natural compositions that provide equal parts lasting wellbeing and transformative physical beauty. Known for incorporating classic proportions and iconic design details into uplifting light filled spaces, Beth’s design philosophy demonstrates how our five senses transport the instinctive process of design into the tangible. Tim Campbell

Intentional Beauty is the first major book to survey the twenty five year career of bicoastal designer Tim Campbell, whose sophisticated and cutting-edge work features residential projects in both Los Angeles and New York. Campbell’s notable restorations exemplify his ability to preserve and honor the architecture of an historic home while seamlessly updating it with modern additions to accommodate a more contemporary lifestyle.

Richard Keith Langham

Richard Keith Langham creates pedigreed rooms that are grounded in tradition but are enlivened with his fresh and imaginative approach. Cathy Graham

Cathy Barancik Graham is an award winning artist and fashion illustrator. Her first book, Second Bloom: Cathy Graham’s Art of the Table, was published in Fall 2017 by Vendome Press. Her editorial work has appeared in The New York Times, Rolling Stone, and New York Magazine, and she has been commissioned by Bergdorf Goodman, Estée Lauder, CBS Records, and HBO. In addition, she has been a contributing editor of Elle Decor and House Beautiful.

Tichenor and Thorp

Deeply fluent in the Mediterranean and American vernaculars and the modern forms of the California tradition, architects M. Brian Tichenor and Raun Thorp design exceptional properties that integrate large-scale residences and luxurious gardens and landscapes into a singular, unified vision. Dubbed “Hollywood’s best-kept secret,” the Los Angeles–based husband-and-wife team founded their firm in 1990. Their book, Outside In: The Gardens and Houses of Tichenor & Thorp is illustrated with specially commissioned photographs by Roger Davies and Brian Tichenor’s own masterly watercolors, drawings, and plans.

Nathan Turner

A fourth-generation Californian, Nathan Turner grew up in San Francisco bay area, surrounded by a large extended family. Upon moving to Los Angeles after graduating from St. Mary’s College of California and living abroad in France and Italy, Nathan successfully merged his greatest passions – design, travel and food – into his eponymous shop, Nathan Turner Inc. Located on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles, Nathan’s store has become an expression of his years traveling, a faithful source for the country’s leading interior designers, as well as some of the most stylish individuals from coast to coast. We look forward to celebrating his newest book release, I Love California.
