Rustic French grape harvesting basket constructed from woven cleft oak with a handle on each end. Known as ‘paniers mannequin’ in France, these large wicker baskets were used for collecting the grapes from the vines to be carried back to the press. The basket has a wonderful time-worn patina and bears the original (red) paint on the front, which distinguishes the vineyard house’s initials.
